Medical Insurance

Anthem BlueCross health plan is provided for all international students.

Due to the extremely high cost of health care in the United States and student's well-being, health insurance is mandatory for all international undergraduate and graduate students. All students are required to purchase the Anthem BlueCross health insurance plan offered by the College, regardless of pre-existing insurance coverage. Waivers are rarely granted and are only available for students who have U.S. based health insurance through their spouse or parents. The health insurance must be comparable to health insurance provided by the College. Please contact us if you have questions about the waiver process.

Overview: The program is designed to provide minor as well as major medical services in the event of illness or accident. The cost of the medical insurance is $1,740 for 12 months (August 1-July 31) and $870 will be charged to students' account for the fall and spring statements. A U.S. health insurance company will not mail the health insurance card to a foreign address, students must visit the CIP office to obtain their health insurance card and update their address during their first term. If a student is approved for a waiver, the student needs to contact their own health insurance carrier for services. The student will be required to pay at the time of service and will need to contact your insurance company for reimbursement.
