Updates and Next Steps for Campus Climate Survey Results

Dear Campus Community,

We would like to thank you again for participating in the Campus Climate Survey: Many Voices, One SMC this past fall 2021. Your open and honest responses are essential to creating an inclusive campus climate here at Saint Mary’s.

On Tuesday, April 26, Rankin & Associates shared the results and findings of the Campus Climate Survey in an open forum attended by students, staff, and faculty in person and in an online webinar.

If you were unable to attend the open forum in person or virtually, you can access the recording from the Campus Climate Survey website here

As of Friday, April 22, the Executive Summary Report has been made accessible on the Campus Climate Survey website and community members had the opportunity to submit their questions online in advance of the Open Forum. All questions that came from the Climate Survey website and Open Forum (in-person or virtual) will be made available, along with the answers to those questions, on the Climate Survey website. Access to the Executive Summary Report and the link to ask questions requires SMC credentials.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Climate Survey Working Group will be holding post-open forum dialogues to process the Campus Climate Survey’s key findings as a community and discuss next steps for the College. Join Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/Co-Chair of the Climate Survey Working Group, Dr. Evette Castillo Clark, Director of the Office of Institutional Research/Co-Chair of the Climate Survey Working Group, Dr. Carlissa Jackson, and members of the Climate Survey Working Group for any of the following sessions:

  • Friday, May 6, 2022, 12 to 1 p.m. - Faculty and Staff Dining Room

  • Wednesday, May 11, 2022, 2 to 3 p.m. - Mission and Ministry Center

We want to hear from you!  From now until mid August, recommendations and suggestions for action steps from the community can be provided here. The Office of Institutional Research will collect all feedback and place it on the Climate Survey website by the end of August 2022.

At Saint Mary’s College, we seek to create an inclusive environment for all students, staff, and faculty. A foundation of our Lasallian, liberal arts, and Catholic traditions, a welcoming and inclusive campus climate is grounded in mutual respect and nurtured by dialogue. We appreciate your creating and maintaining a space for the community to value personal experiences, individual needs and abilities, and opinions.
