Transfer Students go to Oakland A's Baseball Game

On 9/10/21 the Student Engagement and Academic Success Office took 28 transfer students to the Oakland A's game!

On Friday, September 10, 2021, Student Engagement and Academic Success (SEAS) hosted Transfer Night at the Oakland Coliseum. 28 transfer students joined Success Coach Calvin Monroe in watching the Oakland Athletics battle the Texas Rangers. Attendees met at the Chapel lawn for a brief ice-breaker, jammed out to tunes in one-of-three SMC fleet vans, and received admission to the game. At the game, transfer students enjoyed their own section and were able to connect with one another by creating a sense of community. The Oakland Athletics won by a final score of 10 - 4.

This outing is just one of a few exclusive transfer events that are hosted throughout the semester. With the help of the Transfer Student Club (TSC) and various departmental offices such as Admissions, New Student and Family Programs, Student Engagement & Academic Success, transfer students should consider attending:

  • Six Flags, Discovery Kingdom
  • On Campus Escape Room (in collaboration with Saint Albert Hall Library)
  • Social Events at the 1928 Pub and other locations

Be on the lookout for more information! If you have ideas, or would like to collaborate on future transfer-related programming, please contact Calvin Monroe at ctm7@stmarys-ca.edu.
