Spring Semester Housing

The application process for spring semester housing begins in early November.

All incoming students must complete three required steps:

  • Contact the Campus Housing Office to be put on the Housing Waitlist as soon as possible.
  • Pay the $350 non-refundable housing deposit to the Business Office.
  • Complete and return the Residence Hall and Dining Services License to the Campus Housing Office.

First-Year Students

First-Year students are required to live on campus.  However, please contact the Housing Office as soon as possible to inform us of your needs / preferences.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are offered housing on a space-available basis for the spring semester. Priority for receiving on-campus housing is based on the date that you were placed on the Housing Waitlist.  When space becomes available students will be contacted via phone and SMC e-mail addresses. Once housing is offered, students are generally given 24 hours to accept or decline.

Once a room assignment is offered and accepted, the $350 non-refundable housing deposit is due to the Business Office and cannot be refunded for any reason.  After paying your deposit, proof of receipt must be given to the Housing Office in order to secure the room. At this point the Residence Hall and Dining Services License is due to the Campus Housing Office.

Continuing Students

If you are a continuing student who does not have on-campus housing and wish to live on campus for the Spring semester, please contact the Campus Housing Office as soon as possible.

Study Abroad Students

The Campus Housing Office reaches out to all students who are abroad for the Fall semester in mid-October about the housing application process for students who are interested in living on campus upon returning for Jan Term and/or the Spring semester. For further information, please contact the Campus Housing Office.

If one finds off-campus housing or decides not to live on campus for the Fall or Spring Semester, please advise the Campus Housing Office immediately. For further assistance, Campus Housing Office publishes an Off-Campus Housing List that is available to the Saint Mary’s College community.  In addition opportunities are posted by individuals in the Classifieds section for Housing via the Brickpile Discussion Board.

Check the Housing Calendar for deadlines.
