Leadership Programs

In This Section

Student Involvement & Leadership is committed to providing Saint Mary's College students with leadership development programs and opportunities that fit their needs as they accomplish successful professional goals.

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)

The NSLS provides a step-by-step program for students to build their leadership skills through participation on campus events and online interactive workshops. Upon completion of the program, students receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at Saint Mary’s and across the country.

The NSLS is the nation's largest leadership honor society. Students are selected by the college for membership based on either academic standing or leadership potential.  Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction. With 664 chapters, the NSLS currently has 995,591 members nationwide.

Membership in the society is for life and provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, and discounts on computers, textbooks, grad school prep courses, and much more. Additionally, members are able to list their affiliation on all statements of personal accomplishment, including their resume, allowing them to stand out in an ever-changing labor market.

Compelling in thought and focused on success, these authors, speakers and celebrities share their stories, expertise and advice with students to help them achieve their goals.

Students can join live broadcasts of speakers and actively interact with them through social media and other web-based systems. Rebroadcasts of all live broadcasts are also offered for students with scheduling conflicts.
