Sarah Speron named Vice President for Facilities

October 20, 2021

Dear Saint Mary’s Community,

I am pleased to share with you the promotion of Sarah Speron as Saint Mary’s Vice President for Facilities and the newest addition to the Senior Staff. This position was approved by the Board of Trustees at their meeting last week.

Sarah brings a long history of leadership and innovation to the College. Prior to joining Saint Mary’s, she worked for almost a decade at the UPS Chicago Area Consolidation Hub, their largest ground hub in the country. At UPS, Sarah was responsible for capital planning, chairing the Real Estate and Facilities Committee, and driving production results through forecasting and logistics in the Industrial Engineering department.

During her time at Saint Mary’s, Sarah has continued to make her presence known with many campus improvements including renovating residence halls, installing the emergency backup generator, and preparing the facilities for COVID-19 re-opening.  She has a tireless commitment to making Saint Mary’s exceptional, as evidenced by the numerous completed projects in her short time. Sarah is committed to modernizing our College and elevating the student experience.

Sarah is a midwestern native, having grown up in Michigan. She received her Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. She now lives in Orinda with her husband Roman and four young daughters.

Please join me in congratulating Sarah!

Best regards,

Richard Plumb, PhD
President
