Professional Overview:
I am a scholar-activist who has worked in higher education and other community-based educational spaces for over 20 years. I currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Politics at Saint Mary's College of California, specializing in community building, contemplative justice and critical community engagement. I earned my Masters degree in Social Work from Georgia State University with a focus on community partnerships and my PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine with a focus on civic and community engagement. I am also a proud undergraduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
