Professional Overview: 

James worked as a teaching artist in residence for San Francisco Ballet for 16 years.

As a dance performer, James worked in the US and Europe with such artists as Bobby Mc Ferrin, Little Richard, Big Bad voodoo Daddy. James taught at the Edinburgh Arts Festival for a 6 weeks teaching residency.

As a Choreographer, is credited and best known best known work is that of Choreographer of the Disney Movie ‘James and the Giant Peach. He also was Animation Choreographer for the 20th Century Fox Movie ‘Monkeybone’. James was a principal dancer in the movie ‘Swing’.

James holds his BA in English Literature and his MFA in Web Design and New media. James recently choreographed a piece for one of his dance teaching idols, Anne Green Gilbert, on her Kaleidoscope company at her Creative Dance Center in Seattle . James great passion is to continue to reform schools with the implementation of quality dance and yoga programs. James is the proud father of two and lives in San Francisco. He has taught at St Mary’since 1996.
