Legacy holds two M.A. degrees in African-American Studies and American Studies from Boston University, as well as a B.A. from UCLA in American Literature & Cultures.  He is passionate about helping students dissect identity, power and privilege in their own lives, as well as society at large. He enjoys facilitating dialogues on the intersections of social identities as well as building ally-ship one relationship at a time.  As the former Assistant Director of the Intercultural Center (IC), Legacy spent four years training Intercultural Development (ID) Leaders to facilitate intergroup dialogues in the first year residence halls on identity development and also to facilitate campus workshops on hot button issues.  Legacy has enjoyed his return to Saint Mary’s, where he began his higher education career in the office of Student Involvement & Leadership.  Currently he lives in San Leandro with his partner Lauren (an ‘08 SMC alum), their daughter Kamari, son Zavien and their two cats Copper & Coral.  In his precious free time he enjoys watching basketball (Go Warriors and Bruins!) creative writing, movies, cooking, gardening and camping.

Margaux started her career after studying Intensive Psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and applied her knowledge through a campus office known as the CoCurricular Programs Office dedicated to themes of Social Justice, Community, and International and Global Perspectives. While in Santa Cruz she had the honor of working in a Women and Family Center developing holistic and LGBTQIA+ inclusive sex education courses for middle school, high school, and adult education classes. After leaving Santa Cruz she graduated from the Saint Mary's Masters of Counseling program, with a focus in Higher Education and Student Affairs ('21). Some of her areas of passion are in developing social justice leadership in her students and self and working within the intersectionality of diverse identities in the LGBTQIA+ community. When she is not working, you can find her cooking for her loved ones or outdoors hiking, camping, gardening, and swimming.

Strategy #1: Make Delphine Lounge an Inclusive & Inviting Physical Space

  • Goal #1 - Rearrange physical layout and resources of downstairs lounge

  • Goal #2 - Host monthly affinity-based Collective Hours

  • Goal #3 - Host monthly lunch conversations with collaborative partners

  • Goal #4 - Build intentional collaboration and IC orientation for grad students (and hire grad intern if possible)


Strategy #2: Create Greater Campus Awareness of IC Programs/Resources
