Acta Sanctorum (available online from Saint Mary's College Library) 68 volumes in Latin dedicated to a scientific study of the lives of the saints published between 1643 and 1940 by Jesuit scholars known as the Bollandists, a name derived from Fr. Jean Bolland, one of the earliest Jesuits to work on the project. The volumes are arranged according to the calendar of the saints beginning in January. The work is incomplete, stopping with the prefatory volume for the month of December. The online version available with library privileges at Saint Mary's College is searchable.
