Student Leadership Programs

CILSA offers various leadership development opportunities for students who are interested in making a summer or year-long commitment to leadership, justice and spirituality

Jumpstart Corps Members

Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.

MICAH Summer Fellowship

The MICAH Summer Fellowship allows 18 SMC & USD students to live/learn and serve with various communities in the Bay Area OR Tijuana, Mexico.

Engaged Learning Facilitators (ELFs)

ELFs serve as liaisons between faculty members teaching community engagement (CE) courses, the students enrolled in those courses, and the community partners with whom students serve.

Public Service Internship Program (PSI)

The PSI is an independent study experience where students are unpaid interns (8-10 hours/week for one semester) at Bay Area non-profits, city governments, and any type of entity that would fall under the notion of “public service.”  Students will strengthen skills and knowledge for working in the non-profit and public service sector, explore vocations through the lens of personal and professional development, and review and discuss academic content related to public service and the specific organizations’ work.
