Graduation Requirements

Completion of the 12 course program (44 semester units)   

  • 10-course Leadership and Organizational Studies major
  • Collegiate Seminar requirement (SEM102)
  • Theological Understanding requirement (TRS189)

 

Elective credit, which may be earned through

  • Transfer credit from accredited post-secondary institutions
  • Credit from assessment of college-comparable experiential learning (LDSH101 and LDSH110)
  • Selected CLEP and DANTES examinations
  • Approved credit from American Council on Education recommendations for military service schools or professional courses

 

Core Curriculum Requirements

The Core Curriculum represents learning in three broad intellectual areas:  Habits of Mind, Pathways to Knowledge, and Engaging the World.  Most of these requirements have been woven into the Leadership and Organizational Studies program. Those not met through the program may be met through transfer credit, typically completed prior to admission.

  • One science area course (lab not required)
  • One course in the social science area
  • Two courses in the area of the arts (e.g., art/music history or appreciation, film, literature, theater)

 

Unit and GPA Requirements

  • A total of 126 semester units, including a minimum of 62 upper division units
  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (C average), computed on all courses taken or accepted for credit at Saint Mary's College
  • A grade point average of 2.0 (C average) in the 12 courses of the program
